Skookum Falls

Coming back down to a lower elevation, (around 2500), there are lots of trails in our National Forests. About 1/2 hour from Enumclaw is the Skookum Flats trail. We travel a 5 mi. stretch year-round, although there is snow and ice on the trail to deal with in the winter. The falls are about in the middle, depending on which end of the trail you start. However, this is the best viewpoint of Skookum Falls, on Hwy 410, across White River from the trail. It is hard to get a good picture closer because of the dense trees and brush. The spring is the best time to see this beautiful falls. In the summer months it is just a trickle and in the winter it turns to an ice sheet.
