This is the study I did yesterday at my art association's weekly "paint from a live model" session. Everyone thought he looked like Shakespeare. He did, sort of. Anyway, I had a good time with it. Approx 11x14 pastel on Mi-tientes paper. This is number one of two I did.

Superb use of pastels! Love the expression you've captured, and the use of light and shadow. His eye are wonderful, very intense, and with that wild hair and beard (love the colours you've used) he looks like he could be a poet of old, or and artist! Excellent portrait!! :o)
