The painting for today's post was finished on December 10th. It's from Chester County, PA. My son Jay, another artist, and I were talking about our favorite works, meaning ones that we personally did. We all agreed that our latest works were usually our favorite and that holds true for this painting. "Autumn Pasture", Chester County, 14"x11", oil on deep, gallery-wrapped linen, $350., framed. I hope you like it too. Let me know what you think. When Jay Sr. was driving, I spotted these longhorns in the pasture with the maple tree ablaze behind them. The warm, golden, late afternoon sun was rim-lighting them. This made the cow's belly on the right luminous like it was lit from within. It's one of the things that I love about the painting. P.S. I put it in the show on the 13th of December, while it was still wet and it was sold right away. THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS PAINTING NUMBER 5 IN THE FINE ART GALLERY FOR 12.28.2007. I AM VERY GRATEFUL.
