Each stack is given a name. The first spur of rock is named; Stella. The second one is Faraglione di Mezzo. And the third is Faraglione di Fuori. It also known as Scopolo, which means a head that stretches into the sea. Stella, which is connected to the island, is the tallest among the three sea stacks. It stands 109 meters tall. It is followed by Scopolo, standing 106 meters. Mezzo is the smallest of the three, it only reaches 82 meters.

The only inhabitants of the Faraglioni are a colony of blue lizards, an extremely rare variety of blue reptiles.

The perfectly preserved medieval village is dominated by a magnificent Baroque cathedral that enjoys some of the most breathtaking panoramas in the region. Atrani still retains its roots as an ancient fishing village.

The stone-paved paths between Atrani's houses ascend from the "Piazza" towards Monte Aureo and Monte Civita where the village was built and carve themselves a niche among the two rocky hills, the Dragone river and its quiet beach.

Houses face directly on the beach, and then gather around the square with the church of San Salvatore and the stone fountain, rising finally to the valley and climb along the rocky slopes of the hill, cross the gardens and crops lemons.

Park on the side of the road and take the short trail along the ridge to watch this waterfall hit the sand and the waves roll on to the shore and then roll back out in to the ocean.

Bixby Creek Bridge is probably the most famous of Big Sur’s Highway 1 bridges. The north end of the Coast Road is located at the bridge’s north end. This unpaved road travels inland, bypassing the mouths of Bixby Creek and the Little Sur River, crossing their canyons at higher elevations.

The view here is amazing. The bridge is impressive.

Great place with lots of lovely shops, art galleries, and top quality restaurants on the path to the beach. The farther beach areas are less crowded and quieter than the central beach area.

Laguna beach is just gorgeous!
