I finished on part of the inside of the hoodie, now to work on the other side. “Crimson Ghost Muse” 9 x 12 graphite on Bristol Smooth paper. This drawing is based off of a photo taken by Artist Kate Zambrano. I thought the photo looked interesting, I wanted to try to capture and create my own observations from her photo. I’m slowly building up the shadows of the hoodie. I’m first working from the inside so that I can balance out the shadows and the hint of a lighter value on the edge of the hoodie. My process is slow - but it’s how I work. This is a drawing of Artist Kate Zambrano wearing skull make-up. I thought it looked interesting and wanted to try to recreate it as a drawing. I haven’t been drawing for the past year. My mental health declined and as much as I wanted to draw, I couldn’t. It wasn’t an artist block, it wasn’t a lack of subject matter, and it wasn’t boredom. I finally have been able to sit down and draw. I am working on a drawing of Artist Kate Zambrano wearing skull make-up. I thought it looked interesting, so I wanted to try to recreate it as a drawing. I’ll be posting and blogging more as I move along in the process.
