Drawing has always been a big part of my life. As far back as I can remember I had a passion for drawing portraits of family and friends. I am self-taught, and it wasn't until the 90's that I became a serious portrait artist. I've been accepting commissioned portraits of people and pets for over twenty years, and recently I have found a new passion for drawing wildlife. I draw primarily from reference photos and strive for realism in each piece. Most of my work takes me anywhere from 80 to 120 hours. Working on a drawing is so therapeutic and relaxing that I find it difficult to put my pencil down. It's not unusual for me, as I'm working on a piece, to be thinking of my next drawing project. There's something magical about applying my first pencil stroke on a new, clean, drawing surface.
