I completed this coloured pencil painting while holidaying in Italy. Whenever I leave to go on vacation, I always prepare few drawings before hand so I have something to draw or paint while away. I have to draw every day so this is what I completed. I thought this elephant eye was very interesting to draw as I was able to portray the lovely textures, wrinkles and eye of my beloved elephants.

Drifting Home portraits a small boat separated from it's mooring and adrift towards a distant shore. On this other side is a cathedral radiant with light. the work is an allegory of my separation and divorce as well as my direction towards a growing spirituality.
