I saw them as well. Now they are being clever. Enough is enough. I came here because I was serious about showcasing my photography. In tired of seeing our complaints fall on deaf ears. And yes, falling on deaf ears is exactly correct because the last comment from AW provided the information needed ( awww...maybe they're artists too) and now they simply post their ad as art...why? Because they know their ads won't be deleted now because they can be viewed as art. Way to go, AW Staff. I'm frustrated at the lack of willingness to actually do something about this situation other than wait for enough votes to finally consider this as serious.

Today they are 3 new members, Toco Waranty with a very funny bird as advertisement included. Attractive pictures of AD's must not be appreciated as personal ART here - they are not shown by the author, as his artwork, they were bought from the artist by someone already and are being used as AD. Toco Waranty didn't bother even to invent a human name for portfolio, I respect the deep technical knowledge and professionalism of our staff their efforts and thoughts,, I do not fully agree with Runefox about their "deaf ears", and still I have some doubts rising again. May be because of my technical ignorance, I do not see this problem as a very complicated technical challenge only, I still hope that some simple non technical measures can help. I still do not understand why the staff can not ask someone to browse new uploads, keeping an eye on spam. If computers can not detect spam effectively yet, a human eye can do it easily - spam is evident, it is hard not to notice it here.

The spam/commercial accounts mentioned in the last few posts have been deleted. As a reminder, we review all the images that are uploaded at least daily and remove the spam images that we see. There will be some "ads" that will be seen by our members before we get a chance to review the daily uploads, but they should be deleted within 24 hours of posting or less.

As mentioned in our previous post, our developers have already started working on the technical solutions we proposed to reduce the spam/ads and these changes will be going live very soon. We appreciate everyone's desire to rid the website of these spammers and solutions are on their way.

... ONE MORE NOTE TO OUR DEAR STAFF just by the way: I have e-mail notifications for each reply in the discusions which I follow. It is more then good, let it be, thank you! . .. BUT... I have 4 notificating e-mails at once for each reply... even for my own reply, even if it is as short as above! Well... it is not a problem, 4 is much better then nothing... and still I wonder what for do I need all them 4? Now I am going to receive 4 more notifications for this note... funny! Is it my penalty for being too talkative?

ArtWanted.com Staff 26 Dec 2017

Thanks for the note, we will look into why you are getting multiple copies for new message responses.

Ginger Olansen 26 Dec 2017

Staff and Yury I think the ads are improving though, Thank you all!

Yury Yanin 27 Dec 2017

Received 10 messages at once. 8 of them - notifications about the 2 posts above. The other 2 - not from AW, but akso didn't worth reading. Feel as a child? who hoped for a candy, but found an empty wrapper only. Gonna to receive 4 more wrappers for this post now...

ArtWanted.com Staff 27 Dec 2017

Yuri - We looked into the multiple e-mail copy issue and we believe this is now fixed. You should only get one e-mail going forward for message threads you request updates on.

Yury Yanin 27 Dec 2017

YES! I've received only 1 note for the above post. This minor problem is solved. We're happy to have a capable staff here at AW! Thank you!

We wanted to let everyone know that is part of this thread that we have taken additional steps against spam/commercial accounts this week.

Going forward, all new accounts will go through a review process before the artwork and portfolio goes live to the public. This means that our staff will review all new accounts each day, and delete any spam/advertising related images/accounts before they are even seen by the public. Not only will greatly cut down on the ads that show up on ArtWanted, but we hope that over time it will also discourage these spammers from even creating new accounts on ArtWanted in the first place.

It's a constant battle, but we will continue to put steps in place to get rid of the spammers and commercial accounts that are being created.

Ranefox 12 Feb 2018

Thank you! I look forward to not seeing ads.

ArtWanted has made additional updates to reduce the spam on our site and has also added a "Report to Staff" button to quickly remove the image by a member if it's spam. We hope everyone has noticed a large decrease in the spam images/accounts than before.
