Sorry, Marlene, I usually check you out 30 - 40 times a day and I have been negligent!

marlene burns 17 Mar 2010

funny, jerry! seriously, have you seen a change in your numbers?

jerry carlin 18 Mar 2010

The numbers are interesting, for sure. Some days I get 150 and once this month I got over 500!!! and I wonder what did I do different that day? I do know that when I want more visitors if I post something on my local anear interest sites or even on Craigslist, directing people to this site, then I will get a LOT more hits! Do you ever try this? It really works! Spring is here and maybe the economy is a tiny bit better as I am getting work! Over $6,000 THIS month!!! best I've done in over a year! and pretty good for a retired guy!

I remember a while back AW addressed this but I don't recall why, but I think it had something to do with the automatic AW "random" posting ???

Marlene - We haven't made any programming changes to the website in the last few months for statistics and our overall website traffic is actually higher this month than last month. We don't know why your hits would be lower this month than last. However, we did notice that this month you uploaded more than 3 images on a few days, which will hide those extra images from the "daily uploads" and reduce your traffic. Try and only upload 1-2 images per day for best results.

For everyone, we want to remind you to check out our "Traffic Tips" page with tips to increase your traffic. We also encourage everyone to check out ArtistMarketingTips.com for other great ideas to bring more website traffic.

Marlene, You worry too much about how many hits you get, but you should really worry about how many paintings you sell. Just a thought. I care less about how many hits I get, don't even look at them.

marlene burns 20 Mar 2010

in all honesty, bert, i don't worry about how many hits i get. there has been a huge change in numbers this month and i was curious is all. i find the numbers interesting. i sold a lot of work this week...that is and always will be all i worry about.

bert cortes 21 Mar 2010

Marlene, Would you be kind and send me by email half of what you have sold. Tired of sleeping under overpasses, sleeping in a tent..!! Very happy that you are doing well. You are, in my book, one great artist.

marlene burns 21 Mar 2010

sorry bert, no can do...but it really was a stellar week....sold 18 pieces...hope the good vibes spread to everyone on aw!

Marlene,

Just out of curiosity because I'm new here and haven't started selling.

Did you make those 18 sales in one week from AW?

If so, congratulations. You're an inspiration to us all. :)

Leyla Murr 10 Jun 2010

Like your work Marlene! You have no prices on so I wondered ... I wish I could sell 18 pieces :) Well done!

marlene burns 13 Jun 2010

i have sold nothing on A.W. but this is a great site to showcase your work for people to view it globally. so thanks A.W. for that x

Although I am quite new - May and June full stats - my numbers of views of the images seems to be growing relatively steadily. July seems to be following that trend too. The Main gallery hits are down 28% from May to June but over-all views of the art are up 52% Of course I do have many more galleries and pieces and that could be part of the stats changes. Good to hear an artist talk about brisk sales - even if not from Artwanted. Does anyone know someone with some sort of sales records on Artwanted? Types of pieces sold? Widgets? ?? Love your work Marlene! Richard

thx richard...i was referring to earlier stats going thru the change. glad to know you're doing well!

i have sold at Red Bubbble...just started building a site at Fine Art America this week....have had LOTS of views here...never sold a thing here!

I recently a couple of weeks ago in August paid for a full upgrade here in hopes of getting some hits. It has made NO difference. When I started here I got hundreds of hits. Now I get NONE. Anybody know why? I paid for nothing?

Vincent - We looked at your stats, and we respectfully disagree with your comment. You upgraded your account on Sept 4th. In September, you have already received DOUBLE the image hits of August, and the month is only 2/3 over at this point. Premium Members generally receive more hits than free members, however what you are paying for with a premium membership are all the account upgrades.

Vincent von Frese 26 Sep 2010

Last year at this time statistics say hits I had were over 7000 total but so far this year only a little over 700. I will take any response of course but I'm wondering if the site AW has grown so large in memberships that I'll have to work harder to get noticed. Like Marlene I use this site for portfolio display and am not selling anything from it as yet.

I've purchased art from artists on this site however. Thank you for your response AW staff.
