I like the idea of having differing media in different contests. This would pit photographers against photographers, painters against painters. Suggestions for future contests: Cats, weather events(windy, rainy, snowy etc.)

I think we need to start doing contests to give 3-D sculpture people a chance to participate in the contests. So far all I have seen are 2-D. I recommend a teapot contest, possibly open to all media? Self portaits will also work for all medias.

Now that it's almost winter... what about a contest, or two... maybe one photography, one fine art/digital for the theme 'Animals in Winter' or something of the sort... I do love animal art :)

Dream paintings. Not made up fantasy stuff, but images one sees in one's sleep, of which the artist attempts to recapture on canvas. I don't have many of them because I forget most of them before I draw a sketch.

I love all of these ideas! Universally, everyone could compete in the seasonal categories--and that is totally including anyone's chosen medium. The animal themes are pretty universal, too--You've got my vote for these!
