I love doing Macro, I have a wide lens w/ macro, and have really enjoyed using it this summer when I have the time. Flowers have been a problem, we did not have any rain for 6 weeks, even with watering from a hose, the flowers just didn't put on a show like they always do. Oh well another year.

"Broken"

A flower I picked and was photographing, it was left over night... wilted and broken.

joan warburton 27 Jul 2007

Bianca, how do we know which ones were taken with a macro lense?

bianca 28 Jul 2007

Joan......I been photographer for 30 years and i do know what is macro...:)If you take close up photo (no macro lens)....photo will NEVER BE FULL FRAME IN FOCUS...You can only come so close to keep focus...and then u will not have it full frame ...it will be distant photo...that is one of the factors to begin with...but there is more to it...:)If i take any lens that is not macro and try to get close to the flower to have a large flower in full frame then flower will be blurry.....That will automaticaly be noticable...If you look at my BUTTERFLIES you will see macro work....

bianca 28 Jul 2007

Once again beautiful submissions...wow....THANK U EVERYONE....

REMINDER!!! Please do not cast your votes in HERE....I will post tonight HOW TO VOTE ....it will be posted here and in my PORTOFOLIO....aprox around or before MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.....

Keep them coming.......I will be back tomorrow...off to work...

PREP for VOTING

SUE KREAMER perfect example of MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY.....details are very visible...and that is what is macro photography is all about.....with macro we get into the heart of the subject:)mainly used for insects that are small to bring them out and large or get into the heart of the flower:) Jan de Hoog perfect example of MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY...that is very small insect in nature brought before your eyes with details...

When voting keep this in mind.....Unfortunately there is some works here that do not qualify for this contest and will be disqualified and your vote will be discarded.....Misconception and misintepretation of MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY is misunderstood......at large.......Please vote for work not because it is your friend :)MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY contest is hardest of them all.....just because its not easy to determind what is macro due to misconcept about macro photography :)I have given you couple EXAMPLES with this mind start voting AFTER MIDNIGHT tonight..

Have A look at DEAN JOHNSON photo of the insect.....THAT IS WHAT TRUE MACRO IS.....Just to highlight you when i will look at the votes and if his photo has 1 vote but someone else's photo that is not macro has 3.....HE WILL BE WINNER....that is just a tip how i will judge the votes....:)

Macro photography is my favorite photography and i have expertee in it...as u can see in my portofolio...the reason i put up this contest :)

If we are short of the votes and votes are aimed at photos that will be disqualified i will extend time for voting until we have 3 winners....

With examples above.......this will give you idea what i am looking for and what i will judge as MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY....GOODLUCK ALL
