This is a Cairns Birdwing, they are hard to get because they tend to flit from one spot to another, not resting for more then a second or so. Tim

bianca 19 Jul 2007

hhahahhahaahha Charlotte...You click on each photo...window willopen, click right, save as,save in folder named CONTEST....now open them all in photoshop or any other program, click on windows above, select tiles and u will have them all on your screen...hahhahahhahha look at each one with fine comb...and start eliminating what u dont want.....and u will be down to where u wanna be...That is the best not knowing the name of the photographer you will give fair chance to that ONE VOTE lol...

Bianca-

This is my entry, entitled 'Peek-A-Boo', for the macro contest. I caught this praying mantis by surprise.

Thank you, Bianca. Just to let you know I took this with my Olympus E500 using a 45mm lens in "Sports" mode. Unlike Macro Mode Sports mode has a slightly higher shutter speed to eliminate motion blur while still giving me good exposure and color.

It was taken late in the day near sunset. I took it at an angle so the sun would backlight the Cicada's wings.

I used Photoshop to adjust the contrast. No other modifications were made.

Hope that answers any questions others may have about the photo.

Thanks again, Bianca.
