I hear the clock,

in the silky dark quiet of the night,

the steady tick-tock,

while in my mind, these thoughts I write,

The throughts flying around inside my head,

unwelcome things that I let in,

memories better off forgotten,

a long review of all my sins,

yet a few stray thoughts,

exist within that make me smile,

I try to hang onto those,

sweet thoughts for a while,

Why can I not just think of those?

a thought suddenly occurs to me,

I am able to navigate this road,

I'm the one in the driver's seat!
