The National Monument of Victor Emmanuel II is a monument to honour Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy, located in Rome, Italy. The monument was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi in 1885. It was inaugurated in 1911 and completed in 1935. In the photo, taken in Rome on June 26, 2010, you can see the tall Corinthian columns made of pure white marble and a huge equestrian sculpture of Victor Emmanuel.
