My impression of the picturesque coastal village in North Cornwall which was devastated by floods in 2004. You will remember seeing the news film showing vehicles being carried by the torrents of water and tumbling over and over to the sea. The bridge at the top of the painting is the area shown on the TV news item and most of the buildings lining the banks of the river were damaged or destroyed. The renovation and rebuilding is almost complete now and I have shown several of the new buildings.
