Autumn afternoon on Inkwilersee

Soft pastel 24x32cm Beige Ingres paper. Signed on back, lower right 2004/Dx, Sky modern. Inkwilersee is a small bird sanctuary in the Jura foothills. Peaceful, undisturbed and favoured by, fishermen, ornithologists and those like me seeking escape from the daily hectic.

I think you are going to get known as the 'water man' as you portray water so well in your work. This is a lovely painting - good tonal contrast, composition and colour, and I really like your handking of the trees, especially on the right. If I was going to be REALLY picky, I would suggest that the building could be slightly softer to set it back a bit more. More importantly, I'd like to join you there to escape the madness!!! ****

Artist Reply: Hi Anon, yr comments are very welcome. To some extent this was an information sketch and I have always intended doing an acrylic or oils study from it but never managed to do so. If you too want to escape the hectic then come along but don't forget the champagne!

The water is like a mirror, wonderfully painted! Awesome sky also!

Very nice, great job. The small thumb-nail looks like a photograph.
