Linda's Roses

I took a friend to her doctor's and in return, she sent roses! Her lovely gift was unnecessary, of course. I set them on a table by a window in the studio. They sat there for a day, demanding a response. Every time I looked at them they said, "Paint me, PAINT me!" So I quit working on the commission I was doing and painted the roses. Never send an artist roses.

this is beautiful.................the colours and textures make me want to reach out and touch it...........and I love the contrast between the subtle blues/lilacs and the vivid oranges/reds/greens of the roses :o))

Artist Reply: Jacki, thank you for your very generous words. I went to your site and loved what you did--especially when you showed the development between your sea scene and the reference photo. Just brilliant!
