This is an image I captured when I visited the war memorials here in Pensacola, FL. We have a replica of the Wall that is in Washington, DC, as well as memorials for WWI, WWII, and Korea. I thought since this month is Memorial Day that it would be a reminder that freedom is never free, and it's a tribute to our fallen men and women. *************************************** As I was leaving the site, this caught my eye...and it is fitting I think...as the lyrics of "Taps" states... While there are no official lyrics for Taps, the following unofficial verse (author unknown) is often used: *************************************** Fading light dims the sight, And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright. From afar drawing nigh -- Falls the night. Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
