Autumn Garden Beauties

I love the last of the years flowers in Autumn. The last hurrah of the garden, often the most beautiful. I take many photos of flowers whenever I can, to remember, to savor their beauties. I love to pull over and look at gardens, and try to grow some of my own. Flowers bring me joy in in instant. It brings me the wonder of the miracles of God. Flowers lift my spirits and help me refocus on the gifts of God. Little reminders that God is here and amazing in his creations. This is a digital painting, not a photo or a manipulated photo. I used an electronic graphics tablet and a wireless stylus pen, my Wacom, and Corel's art software, Painter X. I hold the stylus as I would a pen, paintbrush, marker, pastel, chalk, etc. I choose the mediums, brush sizes, shapes, & colors. I decide everything as if I were using the real materials. I know there are ways to auto paint by clicking an effect in some programs. I choose to do the drawing, painting myself. I love the challenge of working the stylus and mediums to paint works such as this floral. It can take me hours and days to complete some of these works, even thought there is no setting up or cleaning up of materials. I love the no dry time as well. I can mix mediums you can not with real ones to create unusual textures, and effects. I am always experimenting. Sometimes I use multiple software in my experiments to get the results I do. My styles change as well as my subjects, but florals are always a favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy them. I included a close up so that you can see more of the details of the brush strokes. These small screen images often make some of my works appear like a photo, but this is not. I often do the works in very large sizes, and have to reduce the image file in order to get them uploaded. Enjoy and God Bless!

Love the colors and effect!!!Bravo!

Artist Reply: Thanks Jodi! I love purples and spotted these while out and about. The real ones were half dead, but I don't have to paint them that way. I know what they would look like in full bloom in my head.

I was unable to photograph our mums which are more of a purple than these. Wonderful painterly quality!

Artist Reply: Thanks Stanley! If you ever get a photo of your ums and want me to do a painting for you, I'd love to do it and send you it as a gift. Mums are such a beautiful blossom.

DEAR TERRY, SO GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK! LOVE YOUR FLOWERS!

Artist Reply: Thank you Emily! I'm feeling so much better than I have the last few months. It's Spring here now, so my energy is way up. I should be posting up new work this week. I finished a number of them as well as photos. This one took quite a while to finish , but I'm very fond of mums, especially this shade.
