Birds of a Feather

This picture was done with watercolor background and pastel subjects and objects. * Note: The original picture for this photo came from a Sherry Nelson art book (either Song Birds or Garden Birds) I love her work. Although as I have said before mine bears very little resemblence to her lovely works.

Betty, You seem to have a natural flair for doing birds..You could make this into an ACEO print that would sell easily on ebay! I have been making ACEOs there for several months that cover most of my art related expenses, as we know how expensive it is to do our art. I really like how you did the flowers on this piece as well. The borders are interesting, remind me a bit of the mountains in the south west.. and also ribbons.. leaves room for the imagination without taking away from the subjects. I am not familiar with the artist you are emulating, but from this image you have done well and seem to be developing your own style. I am almost 54 and have been putting more and more time into my art as well and its got to be so rewarding to be able to relax and paint and make new pieces of art like this. Great job~!

Artist Reply: I have no idea what an ACEO is sorry plus I would not try to sell art that I used another artist's work to do. Like I said I am just learning. But I thank you very much for your kind words. And yes most of my works bear little resemblence to the ogirinal work LOL unfortunately. But I try and being on here has given me more encouragement to try harder and keep improving. Thanks again. Betty
