Old Driftwood

This is a very old piece of driftwood which was revealed when we had an extremely low tide. It is completely waterlogged, has barnacles growing on it and has been carved by the sea and time. I often wonder when I find pieces of driftwood, where did it come from? Where has it been? What has it seen and experienced? Was it a part of a great ship?
