Simulating Lace

Retha (http://www.innographx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7745) shared this image for us to play with. I found a cool way of simulating lace which I applied to a previous effort (follow link above for details). Will share more insight to those that respond. The attached result is tileable by the way:)
