Prague Autumn

This is one of a pair of little oil paintings I did to cheer up a friend. Heavily indebted to Alphonse Mucha, the Czech Art Nouveau painter. Oil on circular board 40cms

Very nice artwork! It seems to be like a mashup between the styles of A Mucha and H Matisse in my perception. Hope your friend was cheered up.

I always think more of Imperial Vienna than Prague, even though the artist was Czech. You do indeed capture the colors, the composition, and the feel of this glorious bygone era.
