Prometheus

Prometheus was the Titan who stole fire from Zeus to give it to mortals. For that, Zeus ordered him to be chained on top of the Caucasus. Every day an eagle would come and eat his liver, but since Prometheus was immortal, his liver always grew back, so he was left to bear the pain every day. Watercolor and watercolor pencils. 30*40 cm

Hi, Cris. This one came on random and reminds me of last Summer, when I was taking a cup of coffee with my friend Sergio Vázquez (Since AW doesn't allow to write URLs, please google for "Sergio Vázquez, pintura" and you'll find the PINTORES GALLEGOS page). He told me about his new projects. One of them in the style of his "Matadero", this means, "the moment before". He wishes to draw Prometheus this way: on the rock, chains... but the eagle isn't eating his flesh. The eagle will be on a rock near him, as a menace. Different artists can create the same impressive art in so different ways.-- By the way, one of his paintings is at my living room. I bought it two months after I got married :-) 38 years ago.
