Sabre - A4 - Graphite on Cartridge Paper is now available for purchase through the ArtWanted.com Print Program. Sabre was my childhood pet and one of the best friend anyone could possibly wish for. I miss him to this day and I think I always will...there are tears in my eye's as I type this! This portrait was a labour of love for me. Using three different grades of pencil - H, B and B2 - with a putty rubber I built up this portrait in a great many layers to build up the illusion of fur. The putty rubber can be shaped in more of less any way you want so a thin strip of it can be broken off and used to create the lighter fur and highlights in general. Although the original of this one will never be made available for sale it is now available as a print through the ArtWanted.com Print Program. I hope that this wonderful old boy gives you as much pleasure and happiness as he did for me...and continues to do so through some great memories.
