Perge is the site of an ancient city settled in hellenistic times by Greeks. It later became an important Roman city because of its location near the Mediterranean Sea. We arrived right at sunrise, as we were looking around the vendors started to set up along this ancient street. They spread blankets out on the ground and put various trinkets and handcrafts out for the tourists. Since this is the site of the Roman marketplace back in ancient times I thought this was an interesting connection between the past and present.
