Summer of Lilies

I finally felt up to finishing one of my lily paintings. Been under the weather a bit, but on the mend. I took many lily photos this summer for my own photo references for paintings. I found some lovely lilies with peach, orange, purple, and pink colors in them. I wasn't able to get a good photo to post due to the time of day, but remember the colors well enough to do a painting. I hope you like this one. I often get sidetracked with other digtial works, and forget to get to my paintings.

beautiful lillys

Artist Reply: Thanks Cynthia! I wanted some of the summer heat to be in this one, so used the orange-red back colors.

Outstanding, Terry!! This is great!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you Carliss, I love that with digital, I always get the colors that I want with ease. No wasted pants and no clean up. Usually I'm covered with paint more than the canvas is when I use real paints.

Great floral work, Terry, wonderful colors and composition. Michael

Artist Reply: Thank you Michael! I am trying more color ranges in the background to suite the subject. This one wouldn't have worked as well with a blue sky.

Artist Reply: Thank you Blue Doll! It was overcast here yesterday, and I am still down a bit from a sinus infection. I was wishing it was hot and sunny, and dug out my photos from the smmer. Glad it brighten up your day as well.

Wonderful work, Terry!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much Anne!!! I started to use a blue background but changed my mind and used the redish orange colors. My father was such a lily fan, and orange was his favorite color.
