Endless Lilies

This is a shot of some of the many beautiful lilies that are found at Rose Hill Manor, Frederick, Maryland. It was the home of the first Govenor of Maryland. This is a living museum that many local children enjoy coming to learn about Colonial life. They get to card and spin wool, help make a quilt, dip candles, sew, learn about herbal and gardening. There are special events hosted here, and it's also for anyone that wants to come visit it.

Artist Reply: Thank you! I so love lilies. I wish I had more time when I visited there, but had to leave due to a thunderstorm stating. Hope to go again on my next visit back East.

Artist Reply: Thanks Joanna! I'm so slow to respond and post this past half year! Just moved and still unpacking. Just finding time to check comments, and start new works as well. More Lilies to come in the future. In a year or so I will start planting at my home a large lily and iris garden. There will many other flowers as well to add in and to enlarge it each year. Can't wait, but until then will take photos and paint all the lilies I can find until I grow my own.

Artist Reply: Thank you Tazda! It was a wonderful garden to visit. They had lilies before, but after not visiting it for a decade, the lilies had spread and grown so much, it was amazing to see so many in one place.

Artist Reply: Well, I did do alot of knealing, and also plopped on the ground to the edge of this garden section to get the angle. One of these day's I'll wind up getting stuck on the ground, and unable to get back up! LOL! There were 3xs as many lilies there than I could get in a single shot. Will post more up soon.
