Beardmore London Taxi

This 1958 Beardmore Paramount Mark VII London taxicab is now owned by Robert and Karla Smith of Hawaii first served as an ambulatory transport for the Middlesex County Hospital. Beardmore introduced the Mark VII in 1954. Coachbuilt by Windover, Ltd. of Hendon, London, the tall, narrow body was constructed of aluminum and glassfibre over an ash wood subframe. Petro models featured the same running gear as the Ford Consul Mk II.The Smith's Beardmore is fitted with the optional 43bhp Perkins "four 99" diesel engine. Mark VII production ended in 1967 with only about 650 units having been built over the total run.
