Cannery on the River

Available Original Art

A digitally enhanced photograph of tug boats waiting under the drawbridge in Hoquiam Washington,USA. The word "hoquiam" (ho-kwim, or ho-kwee-um) translates from Native American as "hungry for wood". In days past logs travelling down the narrow river would writh and bash against each other, and the out-going fresh river water fight against the inward salty flow of high tide in this harbor town river; in effect chewing the wood!
The second image shows a detail of the full sized image to show how the image has been digitally manipulated.

I like the three images - as you say, the older and the newer. The contrast.
