2 Tucans (rough pastels)

This is a fun, colorful paintin I di for my granddaughter's room. I used a wacom tablet & pen w/Painter IX software to paint this from a blank canvas. It's a looser style, using pastels and airbrush with adjusting the sprays to get a rough pastel look. Very lightly blended in a few areas.

Very powerful brilliant colors, great contrast and wonderful expression Terry!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much Jerry! I let more of the child out in me (if that's possible) and enjoyed using many colorful colors to create this work.

love the design........the bird is very beautiful.

Artist Reply: Thank you! This one was so freehanded and loose. I wanted to use color and the pastel and oil looks. It was a fun one to play with.

Elegant and dramatic!

Artist Reply: Thanks, here I was thinking it too lose and messy! Glad I took a risk posting it! LOL! SOmetimes not sure if just because I had fun doing a work that it should post. I'm posting more, and get good feedback to learn what works, and does not so much. This one I had to stop myself from adding more color. THinking of doing a series of rainforest scens with animals like this, got a little story starting in my head, will have to fiish it in a poem, and make a children's book with it.

I love this so much, beautifully illustrated!

Artist Reply: Thank you Lucia! I am working on some styles that I might use to illustrate some stories I've written for children's books.
