This amazing sunrise looks like the clouds are connected to the water by huge golden ribbons. Some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets on Hatteras occur in the early fall (photo taken September 2005), when the humidity is low and the wind is still, early in the morning. One white heron appears black in silhouette, stalking minnows.
