Carnedd Llewellyn

This is one of a series of paintings of imaginary landscapes arising from my love of Wales and Welsh mythology. The basic painting is worked in acrylics, then elements of collage are added, worked into, re-evaluated, worked into again...the whole thing is put aside for a while...then the process starts again lol. When to stop...I always seem to know, but it's difficult!

Love this one. I can make out the mountains and the miner in the cage descending down into Dante's infierno. Like the touches of the Welsh traditions. It gives a real feel of Wales, this magical land of song and waterfalls, dungeons and dragons. I love it (and Wales too!)
