This Duesenberg powered car was not only the winner of the 1922 Indianapolis 500 with driver Jimmy Murphy it is also the only car to have ever won both the Indianapolis 500 and the French Grand Prix at Le Mans (1921). Murphy's prize for winning the "500", at an average speed of 100.5 M.P.H., was $28,075. Number 12 now resides in the "Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum" located within the grounds of the track in Speedway, Indiana.
