Spirits of the Night

This painting was inspired by an evening walk. The grassy field behind my house was alive with fireflies and I'd had the good fortune of holding a newly emerged luna moth.

Maureen> i love your artwork, its the same feeling walking to the fields at night with all the fireflies so small and they twinkle like evening tiny star, i love the feeling here, nice impressiv work, superbly done, simple but strong colour for the night.

Artist Reply: Thanks. I was trying to capture the luminous feeling. The sky may look like a solid blue but there are actually several layers of color.
