Artist Reply: Hi Vicki, this is not a true negative... the process starts with tracing the contour of my original image which is in color. Once tracing it is still in color Then I invert the image which is still color, From there I defuse it to smooth it out and then convert it to black and white, I have to enhance the brightness after that and then sharpen. When all that is done then I clean it up. Often it is still kind of messy after that. So I have to change colors, paint , delete, etc... I love the process. I'm so glad you noticed the unusual technique ~
