Scoring or scarring the paper pre-color can be bit problematic as 1. my eyes aren't quite what they used to be and 2. this is quite invisible to almost any eye before I put color over it. But I like the effect and so shall probably continue doing it for awhile. This is a 6.5 by 5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art, still rolling his own zigzags here in Austin, Texas.

Artist Reply: I got rather 'scratch happy' on this one but you have to remember this is a pretty small drawing, like a lot of mine are these days. This effect is much more subtle when one looks it in at normal size. Hope all is good, Dave. Thanks! :)
