I did a piece a while back called 'The Party's Inside' that had a figure with a very somber countenance and I suppose this one is along those same lines. I have a photo taken in the mid-seventies of myself with rather long hair and my Dad sneaking up on me with his hands on either side of my head. He had a big smile, probably for Mom who was taking the photo, and I was my usual serious self. So when I looked at this more closely, the title seemed obvious. Yes, that's what Original Jones Art said seriously here in northwest Austin, Texas.

People tell me I wouldn't win at poker! I've never been able to hide my feelings well. One look at my face and you pretty well know my thoughts! I like your combination of pinkish brown on one side of the face and blue on the other. Great work.

Artist Reply: I can't tell you the last time I played a card game, Ginger, of any kind. Not much of a game boy, I guess. But I'm pretty sure my face is an open book also. Of course, that's just a guess. Thanks for the nice comment. :)

No matter whether you're on board the Titanic or Queen Mary, a party is always inside. Like the story as well.

Artist Reply: Or between your ears if you are a mind to. I like to think a little more expansively about that old expression, "You can't judge a book by its cover." I've met some very pretty covers that weren't worth reading and some middling covers I couldn't put down. Or, at least, didn't want to, Nikolay. Thanks! :)
