The "Great Linden" station in Laken, along the Brussels - Grimbergen tram line, early 20th century. In the fashionable Laeken, certainly then, in the vicinity of the Royal Palace and the Royal Greenhouses, the tram stop was more than a boarding point. At the time, this stop had a newspaper and tobacco kiosk and a bar in a somewhat kitschy building to satisfy the "beau monde". Sunday painters and walkers from the outskirts of Brussels took the tram until the 1950s to paint or stroll in rural Grimbergen. Image size: 260 x 360 mm
