I've always erred on the side of the plain spoken without trying to be blunt or rude. I always thought it went hand in hand with honesty and transparency. Unfortunately, whatever group I find myself in, this quality appears to be the exception and most definitely NOT the rule. So the majority of folks fall within the plain unspoken.
