Last night late or early, depending upon how you gauge such things, I listened to an interview with George Condo and another person on YouTube.. The other guy is pretty famous and had been in NY during the same period as George. Now I like George fine. He appears to be genuine and his remembrances from the time period were populated with personal acquaintances and places they used to live and/or frequent. They were anecdotal, you might say. The other person who was rather tall and slender, spoke only in generalities and seldom mentioned other individuals and places save for a few galleries and or curators---and, of course art museums. His voice reminded me of a snake-oil salesman of old, strangely monotone and yet hypnotic. I don't think the guy has ever had a close relationship with anyone but himself---but I could be wrong. Could be. This is a not a great piece, of course, but I liked the expression on the listener. I did several drawings during the 'listen' and didn't consciously tell myself I was going to draw anything other that what came out of my head. This means I wasn't going for character recognition, for instance. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and another sketchy example of Original Jones Art as he awaits the dark visitor here in northwest Austin, Texas.

I wrote you a note and AW erased it...it went something like this ,,I commented on your art-- giving it several laurels ..then I mentioned that the characters reminded me of a famous comedic pair..,Then I asked if you could guess who I was refering to...I then gave you a hint..saying one of the funny boys was a dullard and the other a bully....next I made note that that description fit most of the Hollywood laughing boy groups,,,So do you feel lucky punk00...did I fire six or five? (guess who said that ..huh+++/++

Artist Reply: I'm going to say Laurel and Hardy, Elton. I admit to really loving that duo's work. If I'm right, do I get a cookie? :) Oh, I'm guessing Dirty Harry in the second one. Dad was a big fan of Clint.

Oh Charles you are so original and creative. I LIKE YOUR WORK!

Artist Reply: Much appreciated, Karen! Every encouragement is a good one. I think I made six or so quick sketches like this during the interview and have only colored this one. Two have already made it to the recycle bin. Hope you are doing great. :)
