I imagine the first head served up thusly was on a battle shield in the long long ago---before John the Baptist, I'm sure. Sad thing is, it's still being done literally and metaphorically today. Sad commentary on the state of humanity as it appears to march in place and never gets anywhere better. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and another year-end example of that Original Jones Art some fool keeps pouring out in northwest Austin, Texas. Alas.

Artist Reply: After looking at this one a bit, I feel it looks somewhat like my brother did when he was a kid. The bigger face, I mean. Not that he ever served up a head in some a way---at least he didn't seem the type, Kevin. Thanks for the nice comment and hope the UK, at least the small plot where you are, is staying safe and warm. :)
