If you live near water at all then you probably will see this family of the tallest birds in Florida wandering around your neighborhoods like this family of Sandhill Cranes. During the last year, recovering from heart surgery and because of Covid19, I have been living in an aparment above my son's garage in Lake Mary. The house sits on or next to Crystal Lake and is a favorite spot for these noisy but colorful beautiful creatures. They are perhaps the tallest birds in North America and eat bugs, lizards, and sometimes, small snakes.
