KINETIC CROSS OF THE WORLD Crank up the sculpture and let it down again and again! www.mo-kunst.de Mirko Siakkou-Flodin Cooperation project with JVA-Bettenreute The work of art gives the viewer something to do, with the octahedron being lifted out of the earth, he sets up the sculpture in full size. A sublime moment in the life of a sculptor is made repeatable and tangible, even for the one who turns the crank. But it also stands for: "Pull the cart out of the dirt." The plumb line in the octahedron is symbolic of: "In the corners of the work of art, O for East and W for West are welded into the corners, since N and S change when the sculpture is unscrewed. The side bars are from the prison's scrap metal collection and some parts from the artist's studio, e.g. parts of the demolished bridge railing as part of the renaturalization of the Feuertobelbach, discarded agricultural equipment, a remnant of a spiral pipe forged by the artist, the handbrake of a burnt-out Mercedesoldtimer, etc. The theme of the cube is taken up here as an open but nevertheless defined space with connections to life in society and its legally established FRAMEWORK CONDITIONS. The cooperation project started on 4.5.2012 and involved 5 prisoners, 4 officials and the artist himself for one month. The welding work was carried out by the welding expert and prisoner Tom, and the three ID portraits in the black boxes were also created.
