Castle in the sky

Venturing into the Norwegian mountain ranges is a daunting, but rewarding task. However, it is not without reason we have strict guidelines for hiking, due to the rapidly changing weather and ease of getting lost. This autumn evening I were on a day trip to a mountain range in the Lillehammer area in Norway, since the weather had cleared up during the morning. We woke up to heavy rain which transitioned into snow and hail in the midday before we eventually saw clear skies and sun. While we were up there, we kept our eyes on the price in front of us, the top, while disregarding everything else. It was not until we saw these remnants of an old ward which we wanted to depict that we saw what was happening behind us: a majestic fog was drifting inwards toward the inner sanctums of the mountain and towards the top. At this altitude we are rather talking about clouds, however. We quickly understood that no matter the amount of signs, we would be getting lost in such a fog. I managed to grab a couple of shots before I had to jog after the others that had started the descent. It was not until later I understood what this piece had to be called, as the ward stands there on top of the clouds as a castle in the sky.
