After giving an artist talk at a recent show, I got the feeling the audience, mostly 'artists' themselves, thought I could only paint one way. No artist can usually paint in one manner only; it is a matter of choice. And, I'm glad to say, even though I'm no longer the proverbial spring chick, I'm still growing and developing on the inside---where it matters. So I sketched out something that, truthfully, may have been slightly more alluring than the finished painting. But it was exactly that difference that gave me its title. This is a 12 by 16 inch acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. It's what's commonly referred to as Original Jones Art in these here parts, being Austin, Texas.

Very nice piece of art and to me, her eyes show her looking forlorn. She's a beautiful blonde for an abstract blonde!

Artist Reply: Aren't all blondes a bit abstract, Mark? I thought she was bit more 'attractive' in the sketch but liked her well enough. I'm currently working on a very different 3D piece which is almost ready for unveiling. I'm still nit-picking it. Hope you are doing great. :)
