Terra Toys has a Valentine's Day show opening soon and I'm scrambling to come up with something for it. Honestly, I have a difficult time bending my method to suit a theme. Many times I either bend too much and don't like it or I don't bend enough and 'consumers' don't like it. But that being said, I think this rides the fence between pure me and commercialism pretty well. I'm in the process of making 3 larger versions for the show as well---each with a different color eye. This piece stands roughly 7 inches tall and its base is 2.5 inches wide and/or square. Made of my 'special' compound, this too might be considered Original Jones Art emanating from that irascible city known as Austin, Texas.

Most photographers follow the rule by placing the object away from the dead center of the frame. Perhaps you have some other idea in mind.

Artist Reply: I guess you could say I'm no follower of rules in general, Tak-Sek. Also there's the old expression that 'rules are made to be broken.' I do believe the photos present the sculpture in a clear and truthful light, as was my intent. Regardless, I appreciate you taking the time to comment and will keep your suggestion in mind. :)
