Scientific Name: Panthera tigris tigris Status: Endangered Number Remaining: about 2,500 Average Length: 10 feet Average Weight: about 550 pounds The Bengal tiger is primarily found in India, though they have been spotted in other east Asia countries, such as Nepal and China. They are solitary creatures who scent mark their territory. Bengal tigers are also the only tiger species that have been reported to have all white coloration (animalplanet.com).
