Along the coast of the Miura Peninsula of Kanagawa, Japan is a special place where sedimentary layers have been tilted to about 70 degrees. The layers tell the story of a sea bed whose sediments of clay, sand, and mud, were frequently covered with tuff from nearby volcanoes. The oceanic sediments are light in colour and the volcanic layers are black. This shoreline here attracts photographers and anglers alike.
