While on location in Yakushima, Japan and shooting for the NHK World TV show Journeys in Japan, I was at Oko Falls, one of Japan's 100 Selected waterfalls. At the edge of the plunge pool, across from the cascade, I found this rock with these wave patterns. Much of the rock on Yakushima is granite but here by the falls I found some metamorphic rock.
